The one thing indoor air pollutants have in common
is
that they are very small- generally below 3 microns.
(A micron is 25,000th of an inch, a human hair is
approximately 150 microns).
This is where that vast majority of particles in the
air are to be found.
In fact, of the 20 million particles in a cubic foot
of air, 92% are below 0.5 microns.
An increasing number of studies
are finding these
small particles to be a significant health hazard.
As any allergy sufferer can tell you, what you
don't see can hurt you.
